The Civil Engineering department
is under the administrative control of Sr.DE who is assisted
by Sr DEN/C, DEN/N, DEN/S and Aden's. The Engineering
Department maintains the life line of railways i.e. the
track, thereby ensuring safe and smooth transit of passengers
Safety checks both preventive and regular checks are carried
out ensure utmost safety to the passengers and freight
traffic.
The Safety checks
include the following :
Daily inspection of
tracks .
Monsoon Patrolling.
Regular track maintenance
without affecting the Punctuality of trains.
Manning of the level
crossings.
Installation of Warning
boards at level crossings.
Gate signals at level
crossings to ensure additional safety to commuters.
Regular inspection of
Bridges.
Monsoon patrolling.
Patrolling the track
during calamities and civil unrest to ensure safety.
